Description

On November 13, 2021, an incredible group of regional performers will engage the public in a fundraising event to celebrate 80th birthday of locally-known personality, Camille Fife. The concert will bring together an incredibly talented group of people and benefit the exciting revitalization of Madison, Indiana’s own Ohio Theater.

The Ohio Theatre opened in 1938 and was the site of the first showing of the 1958 movie “Some Came Running “ starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine.

Long a town favorite, it succumbed to a fire in 2018, which damaged the roof and allowed mother nature in to do her worst. Further damage was caused by delays in repairs and construction.

The building has been owned by the not-for-profit Friends of the Ohio Theatre since 2016, which has recently engaged nationally known consultants to bring about renovation and revitalization. This is truly the first event to celebrate the beginning of this exciting revitalization effort.

Included in the "rousing bunch of talented friends" are:

  • Jimmy Davis, an incredible blues singer and guitarist who has toured the world with his music. He will entertain us with the blues but has also promised something slightly different for this event.

  • Joe Perkinson is an amazingly talented musician and singer who plays regularly at the Riverboat Inn in Madison and is known for his compelling vocal treatments of a wide variety of styles.  He also has something a little different in store.

  • Deano Crafton, an extraordinary bass guitar and violin master who often plays with Joe in local venues will be displaying his guitar skills for the crowd.

  • Leah Pruett has been singing solo and with her own band in Madison for quite a few years.  She performs everything from country to rock and roll and is looking forward to sharing it all with you

  • The “Famous Amy Noel” is another local singer who performs with several local bands, including her own. She is known as a songwriter, too, especially for numbers with a Hawaiian flair.

  • The Snaps for Sinners are originally from California, now based in Ohio.  They knocked out Madison a few years ago and are still wowing audiences everywhere.  The bass player/singer and guitarist duo are both songwriters and play an outstanding variety of songs.

  • Jhonny and Sallie are a seasoned pair of entertainers, offering  songs from the 1940s to the 80s, and their own original music.  Here’s a secret – Jhonny and Sallie aren’t their real names.

  • Brook Reindollar is a virtuoso on piano, bass, and trumpet, while his wife, Carrie Reindollar is a saxophone player who plays as well as she sings -Wait till you hear them!
