COVID Vaccine / Negative Test and Masking Policy

Due to the surge of COVID-19 variants and the dramatic increase of hospitalized Mainers, City Theater is updating its COVID and masking policy to help ease the current burden of the medical system.  Therefore, anyone entering City Theater (Staff, Board, Patron, Actor, volunteer) must either be fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours prior to entering the theater. This vaccination or testing policy applies to any age where the CDC has recommended a vaccine; persons younger than current CDC guidance for vaccinations are exempt from this policy but must wear a mask; however, if persons under this age do not present with a negative COVID-19 test, they must wear a mask at all times when in the theater.  Furthermore, as of 12/1/2021, masks are required for all patrons, regardless of vaccination status unless actively eating or drinking.

City Theater will consider someone fully vaccinated as long as they have received at least two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine within the past year; City Theater will consider either the PCR or Antigen test (whether rapid or lab). Patrons will have to show either a vaccination card (actual card or clear picture) or a negative test before entering the building as verified by City Theater staff and volunteers.  Patrons will also be required to verify their identity at the door (driver’s license, photo ID, other verification methods, etc.). If using a negative test as verification, documentation must clearly show the patron’s name, date of the test, and result. Those who are unable or unwilling to provide documentation or wear a mask can receive a refund or change tickets, but only by emailing the City Theater box office at boxoffice@citytheater.org.

This policy is in effect until further notice.
