Quetzal "QVLN" Guerrero

Description
Singer/violinist QVLN (Q-Violin) also known as Quetzal Guerrero is at the forefront of music genre evolution and exploration. With an intense understanding of North, central and South Americans rhythms, QVLN's directive is to navigate all forms of musical expression with the violin at its helm. From Blues to Classical Bach, Samba to Soul, Reggae to Rock and Colombian Cumbia to Afrobeat, this artist will take you on a musical journey that is sure to open new realms in the hearts and minds of listeners. Since very early childhood, QVLN has lived, studied and performed all over the globe. His musical education has spanned from the Institute of Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan to the Capoeira rodas of Recife, Brazil and most recently the Nada Yoga School in Rishikesh, India. His music has yet to reach its limits and has received its blessings from music legends such as the King of Mambo Tito Puente and Blues icon Keb' Mo. QVLN has also toured as a musical ambassador for the U.S. State Department throughout Latin America and serves as a prime example for how music can unite cultures and communities globally. When you experience QVLN you will remember why live performance and artistry has always been celebrated throughout history. In 2004 QVLN was given the opportunity to meet legendary DJ/Producer Osunlade of Yoruba Records. Shortly after he was signed to his label and appointed Musical Director to the live music project entitled the Yoruba Soul Orchestra which continues to tour throughout Europe and the United States. During the following years QVLN's stand out talent and stage presence led to him becoming a featured component of the Orchestra which performances include the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Summer Stage in Central Park New York and the legendary underground house music party Deep LA where he received personal praise from the artist Prince who was in the audience. Today his body of work includes collaborations with some of house music's most influential artists such as Jose Marquez, Boddhi Satva, Hallex M, Oveous and of course, Osunlade. Style bending, musical morphing and personal growth has been Q’s primary focus. Most recently QVLN has been touring and collaborating with his childhood friend and colleague Sergio Mendoza and his band Orkesta Mendoza throughout the United States, Canada and Europe and is a featured voice in their most recent album releases. In early 2018 they were selected to tour the United States along with the group Las Cafeteras as part of GlobalFest. QVLN has also been making waves in the Afro House music world with chart topping collaborations such as “Queimar” and “Divinity” which has given him opportunities to perform in countries like Dubai, Indonesia, Australia and China. Overflowing with creative and cultural curiosity, QVLN is on the road about 200 days a year performing at clubs, festivals, and cultural centers--and for people in remote parts of the world that commercial music bypasses.
