Derek Warfield

Derek Warfield & The Young Wolfe Tones are known throughout the world for their quality musical presentation of Irish patriotic songs and traditional music featuring top-class, fiery introductions from their lead singer, songwriter, and storyteller, Derek Warfield.

An outstanding singer, stage personality, composer and historian of the music and song tradition, Derek Warfield is a legend wherever Irish roots have been put down. He enjoyed phenomenal success for some 40 years with the Wolfe Tones, including best-selling albums, number one hits, television appearances and shows in Carnegie Hall, New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Added to that, Derek has been prolific as a solo artist, with an astonishing twelve albums in just over a decade.

Ten years on from the beginning of his solo career, the man often described as ‘Ireland’s greatest ballad singer’ is bringing an old tradition with a young sound to his legion of fans across the world. The Young Wolfe Tones feature some of the finest Irish musicians and singers from a younger generation and bring guaranteed excitement, fun and passion to every performance.

Damaris Woods hails from County Meath and is recognized as one of the finest tenor banjo players in Ireland, but perhaps, more importantly, she is also an expert teacher, as many of her pupils in the communities of Kildare, Meath, Cavan and Tyrone will attest.

At 21 years of age, Dublin native Fintan Warfield has toured extensively throughout Ireland, Europe, and the United States as well as having numerous recordings and radio appearances to his credit. Fintan is one of Ireland’s finest up and coming balladeers and is quickly following in the footsteps of the famous Warfield clan, sharing the same passion of his family mentor, Derek Warfield.

Wayne Brereton is a Folk/Ballad singer songwriter from Co. Offaly in Ireland. Having played in gigging bands from the age of 14, Wayne was the guitar player for a once very popular Irish pop/rock band HOGAN. Having parted ways Wayne returned to his first love of music, Ballad / Folk & Traditional Music where he is a member of the band Turas as well as fronting his own increasingly popular band The Cardinal Sins. Wayne would recognise Luke Kelly, The Wolfe Tones, Shane McGowan , Sean Keane, Liam Clancy, Christy Moore and of course his multi-talented father as as his biggest influences for the crafting of his own style. Wayne is a fluent Gaelic speaker and also worked as a tour guide in Kilmainham Jail, which puts him very much in tune with our musical culture of remembrance of our Irish songs & ballads.

Mylo Moylan is an Irish Folk Singer/Songwriter, well-known for his performances in the world famous Temple Bar district in Dublin, Ireland.
Originally from Kildare Town, Co. Kildare he moved to Dublin and became a unique artist in the Dublin music scene. His repertoire involves the most famous compositions from a wide range of different Irish artists such as The Wolfe Tones, The Dubliners, Christy Moore, The Pouges, The Clancy Brothers amongst others. Recently Mylo has performing his original penned songs which embody his close connection to Irish folk music. Over the years Mylo has built a very loyal fan base who are always excited to hear him perform.
Mylo has dedicated his life to Irish music from an early age and has been energetically involved in the Irish music scene ever since. He started playing the guitar during his school days and music for him was a huge distraction from the mundane chores of everyday life.  It sculpted many lasting friendships which he still enjoys to this day, most remarkably with a group of 4 local musicians and singers who went by the name The Lowrys.
Music & song was always present in Mylos home when he was growing up. His grandmother and mother enjoyed listening to music and the songs of Ireland thus encouraging Mylo to do the same.  However, it was his brother-in-law who inspired him to showcase his passion and It was his renditions of The Knock Song and “Joxer goes to Stuttgart” by Christy Moore which have been etched into the deepest walls of his memory. The entertainment these songs offered was second to none and he became obsessed with learning the lyrics. Today, Mylo experiences remarkable feedback from fans from all over the world and also increasing interest of various other local musicians to work with him.

His love and admiration for the late Luke Kelly is very evident in his performances.
