SCF Symphonic Band Description
Through tragedy, humans find a way to create beautiful, uplifting, and poignant art. The SCF Symphonic Band celebrates the sometimes painful, sometimes joyous compositions that should never have been written including An American Elegy, written in response to the Columbine High School shooting, Of Our New Day Begun, written to honor the nine beautiful souls killed in Charleston, SC at the Mother Emanuel Church, Boston Strong, written to commemorate the indomitable spirit of the people of Boston following the tragic Boston Marathon bombing, Into the Silent Land, composed to reflect the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, and In My Father’s Eyes, dedicated to the 1963 bombing victims of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
Student and staff tickets are available for purchase in the lobby one hour before the performance. Items Not Allowed
No food or drink is welcome in the house.
Additional Information
The Neel Performing Arts Center is located in Building 11 on the south side of the campus. Googlemaps will direct you to the student union, from there you will need to go south and west.
