Broadway Veterans Marissa McGowan and Josh Young present BROADWAY AT THE MOVIES A musical love affair. Join Broadway stars Marissa McGowan and Josh Young on a musical journey through the 80 year union of cinema and musical theater with Broadway At The Movies . Featuring the most beloved and universally celebrated songs from classics such as “The Wizard of Oz”, “West Side Story”, “Carousel”, “The Sound Of Music” and more recent adaptations like “Les Miserables”, “Into The Woods” and “The Little Mermaid.”

From film’s first foray into musicals, Young and McGowan will lead you through movie musical history beginning in the 1920’s to current hits, including the ever popular Disney animated catalogue. Bringing fascinating backstage tales as well as personal insight and anecdotes from their 15 year friendship, these two will steal your heart. Critics have said “...when they sang together their chemistry was unmatchable. I was captivated from the first note by their gorgeous singing, storytelling and witty banter!“

Mr. Young recently originated the role of “John Newton” in the Broadway World Premiere of Amazing Grace . Josh is also a 5 time Broadway World Award Winner, Theater World Award winner and Tony Award Nominee for his critically acclaimed turn as Judas in the Broadway Revival of Jesus Christ Superstar . On songs like “Maria” from West Side Story , “Heaven On Their Minds” from Jesus Christ Superstar and “Younger Than Springtime” from South Pacific critics have called Young:“...remarkable” Chicago Examiner“...superb” Los Angeles Times“...astonishing” Houston Examiner“...vocally lustrous and charismatic” New York Times“...one of the best musical theater voices on the continent”

The Independent Marissa McGowan is a sought after Broadway veteran whose Broadway credits include Les Miserables , Bonnie & Clyde and A Little Night Music . An award winning actress, McGowan has headlined America’s most prestigious regional theaters, national tours, and symphony orchestras across the country. McGowan delights on showstoppers such as “Over The Rainbow” from The Wizard of OZ , “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables and “Can’t Help Lovin That Man” from Showboat . Critics have called Ms. McGowan’s work: “...thrilling and masterful!” San Franciscoist “...to die for” The Manchester Journal “...so good vocally that you don’t want to hear her songs end.” Stratford Star “...so robust it nearly stops the show.” San Francisco Gate “...no one could have more star appeal…” Connecticut Post
