Lisa Long Description
Contemp with Spiral with Lisa Long Principles of Graham-based technique; contraction/release, spiral, and shift of weight fuse together in this class with fluidity in the torso, inversions, athletic floor work, balletic line, gestural specificity and boundless traveling to increase dancers’ strength and technical mastery while intensifying their kinesthetic awareness and artistry. Dancer, educator, and choreographer, Lisa D. Long is passionate about guiding dancers towards their fullest potential. For over a decade she danced for Dance Kaleidoscope, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and holds an MFA in choreography from CalArts. Lisa has taught at CalArts, Joel Hall Dancers Chicago, UCLA, and Butler University. Her choreography has been produced Off- Broadway, at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Kentucky Museum, Electric Lodge, and Miles Memorial Playhouse. Her choreography for Chevrolet won fourth place in MOFILM’s International competition and Residual Unseen won third place at Front and Main Festival. Lisa is Assistant Professor at CSU Fullerton. |
