The YogaSlackers Description
YogaSlackers' Thailand Slackline Yoga and AcroYoga Retreat Join the YogaSlackers in their 4th Retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand! This trio of modern day nomads will facilitate a 7 day exploration of your human potential. Focused on the dualities of a nomadic life, several acrobatic practices, and active recovery, we will explore the edges of your perceived limits and you’ll learn how to surpass them. Through contemplation on the importance of stillness in movement, the softness found in strength and the art of silent communication, YogaSlackers will usher you into a personal rediscovery like no other. All Levels Are Welcome. All different skill levels are welcome in this retreat. We will start the 7 days of explorative teaching and reviewing the basics forms of Slackline Yoga and AcroYoga. As we progress through the week we will add more challenges suitable to each individual. We promise you will not feel too new or too experienced to truly enjoy it! We do encourage you to come with a basic AcroYoga practice. Check out the video below for the skills that will help you fully enjoy this event. AcroYoga Pre-Requisites (Base and Fly)
Some prior experience on the slackline will also be helpful, but is not mandatory. Here is a video that covers our first class on site. Partner Encouraged but not Necessary. You don't need a partner, but we do encourage you to come with one. This way you will develop a deeper practice and will have someone with whom to practice what you learned after you leave! This is YOUR retreat. You are welcome to participate as much or as little in the organized activities on the schedule. Activities Include:

Teaching Team YogaSlackers Sam Salwei and Raquel Hernández are lovers of movement. Limitations are a foreign concept to this teaching duo, as they spend their time traveling the world and fulfilling their dreams of being true modern-day nomads. Whether it’s driving coast-to-coast, or hopping on an airplane to travel overseas, the motivation is usually the same: bringing their passion for teaching to students all over the world. What makes this couple truly exceptional is their joint ability to spark in their students the same passion that they share for movement. Together, they create a playful, supportive, disciplined, and energetic environment in which learning comes naturally. They show their students that there is no limit to what can be achieved with a positive attitude and dedication. In fact, after taking enough of Sam’s and Raquel’s classes, “I can’t” may become as foreign a concept to you as it is for the YogaSlackers! YogaSlackers Teacher and Partner Acrobatics co-Founder Emily Baxter is dedicated to sharing and teaching whatever she can to inspire freedom in people. A bit of a jill-of-all-trades, she teaches and practices several styles of Yoga asana, including Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, as well as AcroYoga and Slackline Yoga. She teaches anatomy, methodology and adjustments at various yoga teacher trainings and runs her own Yin Yoga teacher training programs as well as Partner Acrobatics Intensives and teacher trainings. She is also trained as a Postural Therapist. Emily has always had a passion for movement and body awareness. This, coupled with her strong background in anatomy, manifests in her teachings as clear, precise, thoughtful instruction. She continues to study, travel, teach, play and laugh wherever she may find herself.
