Queen of Hearts is a comedic and musical exploration about love in its forms: hilarious, beautiful, disgusting, unnerving, giddy; classical meets cabaret as soprano, Noelle McMurtry, joined by Joseph Yungen on piano, interprets love songs, interwoven with humorous non-fiction, essays, and stories by comedian Emma Tattenbaum-Fine.

Emma Tattenbaum-Fine is a comedian and essayist who currently writes for "Almost Genius" on TruTV and has written for The Huffington Post and Everyoneisgay.com. Her comedic writing has been featured on Jezebel, BustMagazine.com, Gawker; in Time Out NY and Comedy Central’s Indecision 2012 in Tribeca. She has created content for Google's Original Channels, Funny or Die, and as a sketch comedian with a residency at YouTube's NY studios. Emma is also an improviser and actress and is the recent recipient of a grant from College Humor. @emmatattenbaum

Noelle McMurtry, soprano, is devoted to the interpretation of song and Baroque repertoire. Her recent operatic credits include Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, Cécile de Volanges in Conrad Susa's Dangerous Liaisons with Opera Avanti, Papagena in New York Opera Exchange’s The Magic Flute, Fairy in dell’Arte Opera Ensemble’s The Fairy Queen, and First Witch in Utopia Opera’s Dido & Aeneas. An avid recitalist, Noelle creates new contexts in which to experience song, often focusing on works from a female perspective. Her original thematic programs, featured on Christ & St. Stephen’s Concert Series, The Cantanti Project Recital Series, and at The National Opera Center, include Ophelia and Her Sisters, Femme en fleurs, The Heavenly Banquet, and The Little Ghost.

Oregonian pianist Joseph Yungen is currently a C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School. His teachers have included Alexander Tutunov, Jean Barr, Douglas Humpherys, and Jonathan Feldman.
