Description

Honeck-Moss Productions is proud to present “In The Works.”  This exciting new series was conceived as an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment.  It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

In The Works is presented on the 3rd Sunday of each month and features three composers or composer teams, each presenting about 20 minutes of new material.  This month features the works of composers: Julia Barry, Billy Recce and Michael Finke & Alex Rubin.  Hosted by: Thomas Honeck.

JULIA BARRY creates music for concert, theater, dance, film, and multi-media projects. She is currently in residence at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop, and is active in the NY arts scene, performing with groups from indie bands to classical choirs. Barry has been selected for numerous residencies and programs including the New Dramatists Composer-Librettist Studio, Art-a-Hack, Chalk Hill, Drop Forge & Tool, and VCCA. She enjoys partnering on new projects with groups such as the New York City Master Chorale and KC VITAs, and is especially interested in collaborative and socially impactful work. Her studio, Julia Barry Productions, provides music and digital services for artists, caretakers, and progressives. His songs have also been heard at other various venues across Manhattan, including The Duplex, Don’t Tell Mama’s, The Motor Company and Tune In Time.

In 2017, Recce was the recipient of the York Theatre Company’s NEO Award.
