Description

Honeck-Moss Productions is proud to present “In The Works.”  This exciting new series was conceived as an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment.  It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

In The Works is be presented monthly and feature three composers or composer teams, each presenting about 20 minutes of new material.  This month features the works of composers: Tim Aumiller & Scott Schneider, Blake Pfeil, and Erika Wester.  Hosted by: Thomas Honeck.

TIM AUMILLER and SCOTT SCHNEIDER began writing and producing in the fall of 2003, the year they founded their company NO HOPE Productions and debuted their darkly comic musical, DOSE! –produced in the East Village at the Kraine Theatre. Since, they have presented more than a dozen evenings of new work including two sold out shows at the legendary Joe’s Pub –Siren/Kings In Concert and their anniversary celebration Pulling The Plug: a decade of NO HOPE . Their musical Hello, My Name Is Billy was a FringeNYC award winner and a Backstage “Critic’s Pick.” Hailed as a “rocking new musical,” BILLY ran for six weeks at the Duplex before its FringeNYC run at Le Poisson Rouge. NO HOPE has produced four other original FringeNYC selections including Flight (also a Backstage “Critic’s Pick) and Luke Nicholas (4 stars from Time Out). On screen, their song “Fools Like You” was featured in the award-winning documentary Actress and they collaborated with NYC based power diva pop trio Siren on their music video for “Evolution.” Sheet music for their compositions is available through The NO HOPE Songbook Volume I: 2003-2013 (published by Scissortail Press), which includes their MAC Award nominated song “So Many Reasons.”

BLAKE PFEIL is an award-winning songwriter/actor and was dubbed by Playbill.com as "a boy with too much talent,"

His songwriting work has heard life in venues across NY, including headliner appearances at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Rockwood Music Hall, the Highline Ballroom, among others. Blake's debut album WALLPAPER is available anywhere you can stream/buy music online. Blake is also one of the cofounders of Macabre Americana (currently in-residence at Rockwood Music Hall) and worked as the resident composer for the government-operated Gyeonggi English Village in South Korea from 2010-2011. Blake has served as a guest artist for Concordia College, Icaro Teatro in Mexico, and most recently with the National YoungArts Foundation as the composer for Jay Jackson's (aka Laganja Estranja from RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6) new immersive dance piece [IN]visibility.

As a proud member of Actor's Equity, Blake's credits include the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, Huntington Theatre Co., New Repertory Theatre, among others.
