Description
This play, directed and presented by George Anastasiades, offers audiences an examination of the human condition and a perspective on life by viewing the vanity in which we all live and witness on a daily basis.

The Vortex by Noel Coward was first performed in 1924. It is set in the roaring twenties in England, a time when economies were booming, and those who had the money, passed their time in dreadfully luxurious ways. The setting starts in the house of Florence, a middle-aged lady who is noticeably pretty, but nevertheless trying to hold on to any shred of youth that is left of her. The story follows a talented young composer, Nicky Lancaster. Nicky proposes to his lover, Bunty, while his mother Florence has extramarital affairs with younger men, including Tom, who is also Bunty's ex-lover. Tensions come to a boil as Nicky struggles with his severe drug addiction, as well as the simmering resentment he feels for his vainglorious mother.
