Description
Around 2010 as the country was in the middle of a heated debate as to whether gay marriage should be federally legalized or left to each state to decide, several nationally recognized playwrights banded together to write short plays for an evening of theatre called Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays. In each play, gay couples navigate their way through the confusing and sometimes absurdly funny landscape of what it means to be married in one state, civil unioned in another, marginalized on the internet, or forced to express love secretly in a dorm room during the late 60's. In the face of so many obstacles, these sweet couples work together to carve out their own deeply personal ideas of how, where, and why to vow their eternal love. Additional Information
