Description
The Symphony of the Vines opens its season of celebration with "Celebrating American Song."  This program contains music based on our rich history of songs and features baritone Dan Gibbs.  The All-American program includes the well known "Appalachian Spring" by Aaron Copland in its original 13 instruments version.  Also on the program is Charles Ives' fascinating portrayal of "Three Places in New England" that contains musical references to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and a 4th of July celebration.  Baritone Dan Gibbs joins the orchestra for Ives' "Charlie Rutlage," the tragic story of a Texas cowpuncher.  The program concludes with Copland's "Old American Songs," a nostalgic and humorous collection of familiar songs.
Performed in the beautiful Templeton Performing Arts Center where there is not a bad seat in the house. Get your tickets early, this one may to sell out!
