About our Guest Artists! Omar Ledezma Jr. - GRAMMY®️ Award-Wining Singer & Percussionist Omar Ledezma Jr. was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Upon receiving The North American Scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Omar moved to the United States, where he enjoyed studying music and staying busy in the New York and Boston Latin scenes, where he worked with several internationally recognized artists and became one of the founding members of the Grammy-nominated La Clave Secreta. Omar is a pioneer of promoting Venezuelan music in the United States through his work with major Venezuelan artists Aquiles Baez, Gonzalo Grau and Jackeline Rago. In 2013, Omar won a Grammy for “Best Latin Album” with his recording on the first Pacific Mambo Orchestra album, PMO. Omar currently teaches percussion at the SF Community Music Center and is a percussion accompanist with the San Francisco Ballet’s Dance in Schools and Communities (DISC) program. He also founded the Ka-Hon Ensemble for the San Francisco Symphony’s “Adventures in Music” program where he performed for every elementary school in the San Francisco Unified School District. Omar Ledezma Jr. is an exclusive endorsee artist with Pearl Percussion, Soultone Cymbals and Pinchclip. Javier Cabanillas - GRAMMY®️ Award-Wining Composer, Percussionist, Educator Cabanillas is most recognized for his recording and touring work as conguero in the GRAMMY® Award-Winning for Best Latin Tropical Album of the year, Pacific Mambo Orchestra. In addition, his versatility, dedication and passion has allowed him to tour, record and share the stage with John Faddis, Dafnis Prieto, Sheila E., Arturo Sandoval, Alex Acuña, Frankie Negrón, Karl Perazzo (Carlos Santana), Brian Jordan (Lauryn Hill), Ray Obiedo (Herbie Hancock), Adrian Terrazas-Gonzales (The Mars Volta), Tommy Igoe, Tom E. Politzer (Tower of Power), Jerry Gonzalez (Fort Apache Band), Calixto Oviedo (NG La Banda), Louie Romero (Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz), Jesus Florido (Whitney Houston), and many more. His current project, CABANIJAZZ PROJECT released their debut album INFRASONIC in 2018 garnishing a four-star-review from Downbeat Magazine and charting within the top 100 songs in Jazzweek ratings.
