Uncle Vanya: Anton Chekov Description
Chabot College Theatre Arts is proud to present performances of Uncle Vanya, a play by Anton Chekov.
Uncle Vanya is a thoughtful and contemplative story of Russian friends and relatives living on a rural estate covered with trees. Written by one of Russia's greatest playwrights, it deals with grand themes of purposeful life, beauty, money, and even though the play was written over 100 years ago, ecology. At times humorous, and at times tragic, the characters in Uncle Vanya struggle through their days, yearning for what they cannot have, pursuing dreams that don’t quite come true and dealing with the bitter-sweetness of the realities of life. Due to COVID-19, all seating is assigned. If you would like to view the performance in person, you will be required to choose the seat(s)in which you intend to sit. The performance on this date will also be videoed for a live stream. If you would like to watch the performance virtually from home, please select the "live stream" ticket type. |
