Description

Any musician has felt the struggle to describe our purely sonic art form with words, and many arts practitioners describe music as a language all its own. Music certainly has a doozy of a dictionary with enough concepts and terminology to boggle the mind. In this class, you’ll learn how to talk productively about musical basics with non-musicians, such as pure beginners or students from different academic tracks. Become comfortably conversant in three essential elements of music--melody, harmony, and rhythm--and know what you’re talking about!
