African Americans, who did, and those who did not attend an HBCU all know, what Homecoming means! Time to go back to that place where so many great times where had, great memories were born, to see old friends, renew old friendships, enjoy ourselves, celebrate in our culture and continue the conversation on moving our people forward. Festival of African American Arts and Entertainments opening night theme “Homecoming” will do just that.

Festival Family Reunion Picnic: Walk of Fame Park 11:00AM-1PM

Black families have reunions to get together, preserve family culture and traditions, share information, and celebrate each and every member that makes up the family. Festival of African American Arts & Entertainment on closing day will celebrate family.

Festival Dance:  Walk of Fame Park 2:00PM-4:00PM

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, has been invited to stage and perform dance styles depicting the history of African Americans in the United States. Accompanied by music from each period, throughout our journey from the middle passage through today, dancers will demonstrate individual styles, encourage and invite attendees to join in and we will commence to have one huge dance party.

Special guest performances by “Let it Happen”who will demonstrate how our music and history across the African American Diaspora, has inspired the dance of today.

Festival Family Reunion Concert: Walk of Fame Park 5:00PM-8:00PM

To close out Festival of African American Arts & Entertainment we can think of no other group that better exemplifies our celebration of African American Family.
