Description
Award-winning singer and PBS-TV host for Andrea Bocelli, Il Volo and Michael Buble,
CRISTINA FONTANELLI  (https://cristinafontanelli.combrings her program of Italy’s best-loved songs, arias, Neapolitan and Christmas classics during her 17th-Annual “Christmas In Italy®” concert/worship service at St. Jean Baptiste Church, 240 East 76th street at the corner of Lexington Avenue, NYC, 10021 on Saturday, December 19 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  The concert is a 501 c-3 charitable production giving young people performance opportunities and raising funds for St. Jean's and children's causes such as St. Jude's Hospital.  Called a “Vocal genius” by the New York Sun, Ms. Fontanelli’s musical vision is  a love letter to her Italian heritage and a tribute to her grandparents.  “I began this beloved annual Holiday tradition to preserve Italy’s great classic and popular songs and to teach them, and more importantly the values they represent, to younger generations. And help audiences experience the joy of growing up Italian at Christmastime. This year, during this humanitarian crisis of the corona virus affecting the whole world, "Christmas in Italy®" will take on even more of a deeply spiritual aspect to it, in addition to continuing to be highly entertaining as audiences have become accustomed to for the past 17 years. ” says Ms. Fontanelli. [HEADLINE:] “Cristina Fontanelli, Preserving Values Through Opera” The Epoch TimesJanuary 2014   http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/395522-cristina-fontanelli-preserving-values-through-opera/    Guest tenor, Riccardo Meri and Maestro Steven Crawford, formerly with the Metropolitan Opera will join Cristina, Maestro Richard Owen will accompany on the organ, Mandolinist Joyce Balint (Metropolitan Opera/NY Philharmonic); accordionist Bill Schimmel (Grammy nominee), young vocalist, Anthony Mattson and others t/b/a will join Ms. Fontanelli.  A live stream version of the concert will be made available to audiences worldwide.
