Cathy Scorsese Description
Catherine Scorsese graduated from NYU Tisch School Of The Arts. Upon graduation, she worked as an assistant to the coordinating producer of Sesame Street at Children’s Television Workshop. After that, Catherine began working in film production which lead her on a journey into the art department. For the last 20 plus years Catherine has worked on feature films, and series as a prop person and set dresser. Her credits include "WOLF", "NIGHT FALLS ON MANHATTAN", "CARLITO'S WAY", “CASINO”, THE SOPOANOS”, “THE AVIATOR”, “THE DEPARTED”, “MUSIC AND LYRICS”, “SHUTTER ISLAND” and “BOARDWALK EMPIRE”, "GODFATHER OF HARLEM" among dozens of others. A self-described “Disney freak,” Catherine is a collector of rare Disney art as well as classic children’s literature. It was that passion for children’s literature that lead her to executive produce the animated Christmas special “THE ELF ON A SHELF, AN ELF’S STORY”, already on its way to becoming a Christmas classic in the tradition of “RUDOLPH” and “A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS," Catherine is currently working on a coffee table book about the behind the scenes antics of set life, "When Film Was Fun" with long time friend and set photographer, Phil Caruso.
