About Morgan Heritage

Morgan Heritage is a reggae band formed in 1994 by five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan in celebration of their father's music and rastafarian/roots reggae tradition.

Denroy Morgan was part of the formation the Black Eagles, a New York City reggae band in the 1970s. The Black Eagles won the New York Reggae Music Festival in 1977, beginning Denroy's rise to fame that continued into the early 1980s. In 1981, Morgan had his most successful release with "I'll Do Anything For You," and peaked at number nine on the American soul chart.

After five years working on solo projects, the “Royal Family of Reggae” has reunited and is back on stage. On April 2012  they released the single "The Return" in 2012, followed by their first album release since the reunion, “Here Come the Kings”, in June 2013.

Nearly two decades and ten albums later, the mission has come full circle for Morgan Heritage. Currently dubbed as the “Rolling Stones of Reggae” (in large part due to the act’s electric stage shows), Morgan Heritage has established themselves as the premiere live group on the reggae circuit. From an extraordinarily talented teen quintet to one of contemporary reggae’s most powerful forces, Peetah Morgan (vocals), Una Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Roy “Gramps” Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan (rhythm guitar) and Memmalatel “Mr. Mojo” Morgan (percussion/vocals) are back with “Here Come The Kings” —the collective’s first musical arrangement in five years. The new album, which explores new sounds that successfully fuse roots, r&b and a hint of dancehall, is co-produced by Morgan Heritage alongside ingenious producers like Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett, Linton “TJ” White, Lamar “Riff Raff” Brown (Notice Productions), Shane C. Brown (Juke Boxx Productions) and multiple Grammy nominee, Jason “J-Vibe” Farmer.
