As Little Italy works to re-open, we look to find new ways to enjoy the neighborhood and highlight the restaurants that are the backbone of the community. The redesigned Taste of Little Italy: Take-Out Edition will follow new safety guidelines provided by the State, County and City to bring San Diegans a new curated meal experience highlighting some of their favorite Little Italy establishments while supporting restaurants that have weathered through this hard time.

Instead of a one-night event, the new Taste will be extended over several days where multiple restaurants will be highlighted each night, serving an elevated meal.  Chefs from each restaurant will collaborate to make sure each course compliments the others.

Unlike past Taste of Little Italy events, this dining experience will help to support the restaurants in Little Italy.  Due to COVID restrictions, restaurants have struggled to open their doors and keep them open.  $25 from every ticket sold will go towards the restaurants to provide some financial relief from the struggles and hardships they suffered over the last few months.

Logistically, we will keep attendee numbers small to avoid gathering on the sidewalks. The new Taste will sell a maximum of 300 shared tickets per night. Ticket-holders will be given a time window to check in at the Piazza della Famiglia. Upon arrival, each guest will receive an insulated Little Italy tote bag so they can collect their meal from the restaurants. To guarantee the best quality and safest preparation, participants will walk or drive to the participating restaurants to pick up their meals. Once all items have been obtained, guests will have a delicious meal for one or two people that can be taken home or enjoyed at your favorite open-air park or space.
