Inside the Mind of a Casting Director - Audition Technique for Singers

You love musical theater! You love to sing! You live to be onstage! You know every word of Wicked! You know you would be the best Elphaba/Fiyero/Glinda EVER! But wait—THE AUDITION! How do I get through that? Join Casting Director Daniel Solis and special guests as they break down the mysteries and myths of the audition room. Here’s your chance to get inside the head and thought processes of a casting director to find out what you need to know.

Daniel has enjoyed a long career with The Walt Disney Company in a wide variety of Entertainment-related roles. After performing in many stage shows at Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Resort, Daniel joined the Choreography & Staging team at DLR, working on such productions as Snow White—An Enchanting New Musical. Daniel then spent the next ten years as Senior Casting Director, casting such notable productions as Disney's Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular, Tokyo Disney Resort, Aulani—A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, and both of Disney Cruise Lines' newest ships, the Dream & Fantasy. He has now moved onto the Entertainment Production team and is working on a new land coming to DCA in 2020, along with two other yet-to-be-announced international projects.
