Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School and South Hadley High School music parents Benefit Golf/Concert
VIP Dinner/Concert seating in the Ledges Pavilion $55
The South Hadley High School Music Parents and Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School are hosting a benefit golf tournament and concert at Ledges golf Club in South Hadley, Ma. on September 7 to raise much needed funds to support music education in their school. This event is titled “Keep Music Education Alive and has raised thousands of dollars for high school education programs throughout New England.”
The golf tournament and concert is open to the public. The golf tournament will feature a hole in one contest to win a new 2013 Volkswagen Beetle as well as other contests to win prizes. A former Red Sox player will be on hand to challenge golfers in a closest to the pin competition as well.
After the golf tournament The BeatleMania Stage Show will be performing the complete Beatles experience from the Ed Sullivan day’s right through to the Magical Mystery Tour, Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road with original costume changes and authentic Beatles instruments. The musicians from Beatlemania have performed professionally alongside the likes of Carly Simon, Hall and Oates, BJ Thomas, Kiss, Todd Rundgren and others. Band members have also written songs with Cher, Billy Joel, Michael Bolton and Joan Jett and several movie sound tracks which included “Wayne’s World”,” Light of Day” and others.
The concert will be held at Ledges Golf Club at 6:00 PM. The music students from both schools will be performing live with the Beatlemania musicians during the concert on some songs.
South Hadley’s Band Director Beth Ann Curtis said “This event is both educational and a fun way for our School’s Music Departments to raise money and will be a great experience for the students to perform with a professional group of musicians.” The proceeds will be used to support the South Hadley and Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Schools Music Departments that enrolls students in the marching band, wind ensemble, chorus, orchestra and jazz classes.
Paul Lococo, music promoter and organizer said“You never know who will be the next John, Paul, George or Ringo or in fact the next number one hit group, this is a great expierence for our music students to perform with a national act in a professional production.”
