Culture & Implicit Bias Training

The overarching training goal is foster the personal journeys necessary to become culturally sensitive persons.  For the coaches and providers who serve diverse individuals in recovery, it is important that they be self-aware of their own assumptions about human behavior, values, biases, preconceived notions, and personal limitations.

Learning Objectives

  • Define culture and a culturally sensitive person
  • Define the difference between explicit and implicit biases
  • Unmask the biases that we all may have and those that only some of us have
  • Understand why implicit biases are not self-recognized
  • Understand how implicit biases are unmasked
  • Characterize the journey to become culturally sensitive
  • Discuss the impact on communication with diverse clients

This course provides all whom complete 6 CEU approved by ICAADA
