The Hot Foot Honeys Description
Join the Hot Foot Honeys, Memphis’ premier tap dance company, as they present “Time Stepping,” their 6th annual rhythm tap dance concert set to music ranging from traditional jazz to neo-soul. The choreography of guest artist Josh Scribner (Alchemy Tap Project, Seattle, WA) will be featured, and local guest artists Steven Prince Tate and Ashley Volner will perform. The company will explore the origins of a “time step” and various time signatures in music, while also providing honest and fresh commentary on women’s rights and social movements. “We are pushing our technical abilities and artistic voices to the next level with this show,” says Artistic Director Marianne Bell. “The speed, complexity, and layering of rhythms in the work is exciting— not to mention the way we are using tap dance to tell our stories.” |
