Description
The Historic Hemet Theatre presents the vocal stylings of two stars of the golden era of R&B -- Norman Carter, formerly of the Delfonics and Jerome Robinson of the 2nd Generation Platters. Don't miss this unique evening of classic R&B!
The Delfonics were a pioneering soul group in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their most notable hits include "La-La (Means I Love You)", "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)", "Break Your Promise", "I'm Sorry", and "Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide from Love)".
The Platters were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era. Their distinctive sound was a bridge between the pre-rock Tin Pan Alley tradition and the burgeoning new genre. The group had 40 charting singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including four no. 1 hits. |
