Homegrown singer-songwriter Kris Acklen has been entertaining for almost a decade. An adept storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Kris’ songs bring a tear to the eye one moment and a good laugh the next, as he turns his #datingfails into light-hearted songs. His upcoming release, Millennidate, is described as a mix between Ryan Adams and Fleetwood Mac. A mash-up of millennial and dating, the new album is a commentary on just that, but the songs are sure to connect with the hopeless romantics from any generation. An established musician both in and around the Mid-South, Kris Acklen and his band will open the Memphis Made – Center Stage series in grand style. |
