American Parlor Songbook will record the broadcast of their
variety show, Saturday,
July 7th, 2018, from the Diamond Valley Arts Center, located at 123 N. Harvard
St., Hemet Ca 92543. Doors open at 6:30pm with the show starting at 7:00pm. General
Admission is $15 for Members and $20 for Non-Members. Tickets may be ordered
ONLINE at the DVAC website (www.thedvac.org) or through PurplePass (www.purplepass.com) Come into the parlor for an hour of clever songs, charming stories, and hilarious sketches every week. Hosted from the piano by JP Houston with his wife, Julie Van Dusen, the pair are joined by guests from national music acts to raconteurs and stand-ups. JP Houston is a Canadian born singer, composer, and storyteller. Beginning his professional career while still in high school, JP has composed an extensive catalogue of songs for film, TV, theater, and record. His work has appeared on HBO, CBC, BBC, PBS, CBS, and networks around the world. Houston was nominated for a Gemini Award (Canadian Emmy), and co-wrote a song appearing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. JP tours and records constantly. He has shared stages across North America and Europe with artists like Leon Russel, Kyuss, Victoria Williams, M. Ward, Band Of Horses, and host of other notable acts. Julie Van Dusen is stage actress hailing from Michigan, a graduate of the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, and the Oakland University theater program, Julie has held key roles in many acclaimed productions. She received a nomination from The Detroit News, another for an Irene Ryan Award, and a nod for best actress from the Oakland Press.
MUSIC AT THE CENTER is a fundraiser for The DVAC and its programs. Guests access to the current gallery exhibition as well as the concert. Doors open for General Admission at 6:30 pm with the performance beginning at 7:00 pm. Items Not Allowed
