Tahoe Adventure Film Festival

TAFF presented by the DHS InterAct Club

InterAct is the high school arm of the rotary Club of Minden, a community service organization dedicated to solving community problems, providing humanitarian aid, and promoting good will and peace.

Presenting TAFF is key to InterAct’s efforts to give back! Proceeds from this event directly support the following DHS programs: Backpack Buddies–providing students with weekly school supplies, snacks and other basic necessities; Students in Transition - supporting transitioning or homeless students; and the Senior Events Committee—identifying senior students who cannot afford prom or graduation night tickets and graduation gowns and caps. Thank you...and enjoy the show!

Marking 15 years of adventure sports cinematography and culture, Tahoe Adventure Film Festival (TAFF) is the annual gathering of the who’s who of outdoor adventure.  It’s where the industry’s best filmmakers premier their latest adventure sports films, hosted by festival creator and adventurer, Todd Offenbacher.

An annual South Lake Tahoe, California tradition, TAFF celebrates the adventure sports community with newly released films of daring exploits and epic adventures in some of the most remote places and harsh conditions that test the human spirit. Filmmakers capture the power and intensity of skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, surfing, mountain biking, BASE jumping and other heart pounding sports that feed our addiction to adventure. Some segments are special edits including previews of films that have not been released.

Each year, the festival highlights the lifestyle and culture of the action and adventure sports. The 2017 (the film opened in DEC of '17) festival will feature women athletes in mountain sports, representing an awakening focus on the talent and energy they contribute to the industry. A never before seen edit from Match Stick Production, cut from their 2017 film Drop Everything, features our very own Todd Offenbacher. Don’t miss the comedy edit.

The fifteenth annual coveted Golden Camalot award goes to South Shore local Olympian Jamie Anderson. Offenbacher created the award to honor action and adventure sports pioneers for their astounding contributions, excellence, achievements, and leadership that have shaped so many lives and defined our culture. Past recipients include Royal Robbins, Tommy Caldwell, Glen Plake, Fred Beckey, Jeremy Jones, Alex Honnold, Steve Wampler, Hatchett Brothers, Corey Rich, Doug Stoup, Robb Gaffney, Chris McNamerra and Chris Davenport.

Offenbacher, TAFF founder and host of Outside Television, is part of this elite group of daredevils. He guides ski mountaineering trips to the Arctic Circle and Antarctica annually. The festival is an extension of Todd’s passionate nature and life of adventure full of challenges that helps him excel in all areas of life with greater clarity. “I’ve traveled the globe to ski, climb, and explore where I’ve met so many like-minded people living the same dream,” says Offenbacher. “This festival comes from my heart and soul, and represents the collective passion and lessons learned to inspire everyone to pursue their dreams with gusto.”
