The Denver
Community is cordially invited to join the Lucero Financial Group and the RMPA
for the 3rd Annual Luminarias holiday celebration of the family.
This year’s theme will focus on the 35th Anniversary of Denver’s
recent Chicano Music Hall of Fame inductee, The Mood Express, along with
honoring Lucero family music industry contributions. Rocky Mountain Promoters
Association “Charmie Smiles” Legacy and Life Time Achievement Awards will be
given posthumously to Mr. Raymond Lucero, band manager and songwriter, and in person to Mr. Richard Velasquez,
well-known keyboardist. The RMPA will also be recognizing Mr. Gene Lucero for
his pioneer contribution to Denver’s musical tradition through his years at the
helm of El Pro Premieres. Finally, the event will include a Commemorative 35th
Anniversary Re-Issue of The Mood Express’ CD El Gigante Desperto featuring two never released songs, Morenita, a cumbia co-written by Raymond
Lucero and Ervin Lucero along with a collector’s item version of Raymond Lucero
singing Puño de Tierra.
