Description
The Dolly Dali Show! is a art-history/country-music/sea-fantasia/gender-f*ck performance work that is part monologue, part magic act, part drag show, part karaoke, and part clown. The only part that's missing is you! Written as an urgent response the week after the election, playwright/performer Adam R. Burnett has crafted an absurd and immersive performance work that joyfully asks: can we change the way we tell our stories? Careening into the soupy politics of gender, narrative, climate change, and community, this new intends to equally delight and enlist the presence of the spectator. In the past month The Dolly Dali Show! has played The Uptown Arts Bar (Kansas City), The Funhouse Lounge (Portland, OR), and Tricklock Performance Lab (Albuquerque). Adam R. Burnett is a NYC-based playwright and artistic director of Buran Theatre. His original plays include Magic Bullets, Nightmares: a demonstration of the sublime, Poshlost Saudades!, and Mammoth. Adam’s next major work, T.B. SHEETS, will premiere off-Broadway at the A.R.T./NY Gural Theatre in May 2017 under the direction of Ashley Tata. $7 Ticket in Advance & a 2 Drink Minimum in the Cabaret Theatre* $12 Ticket at the Door (plus service fee) & a 2 Drink Minimum in the Cabaret Theatre* *Drinks Must be purchased In the Cabaret Theatre to count towards the Minimum.
