Research has found that it is not only the young and bullied children feeling hopelessness and trying suicide, but also the HIV-Positive survivors who are now older and scared that there will be no one to take care of them. Even just spending the afternoon with them is helpful. It gives them someone to talk too.  The Mental Health Department deals with many calls from our community and doesn’t have the ability to handle all.  The stigma attached to depression and other mental health issues can become a silent killer. Even just spending the afternoon with them is helpful. It gives them someone to talk too.   If we don’t take care of our own, who will?  Sooner or later, one of us will need these services.
