Description
Participants completing the training will receive eighteen (18) CEUs from ICAADA . This training receives support from the Indiana Addictions Issues Coalition’s Recovery Community Services Program-Statewide Network programs. 

 Learning Objectives

  • Define culture and diversity

  • Understand cultural humility, responsiveness and competence

  • Identify characteristics of cultural heritage and style

  • Recognize similarities and differences among cultural groups

  • Identify attitudes and behaviors which block communication

  • Understand explicit and implicit bias

  • Recognize micro-aggression's

  • Recognize attitudes and behaviors which enhance cross-cultural relationships

  • Understand the characteristics of the culture of recovery

  • Practice effective cross cultural relationship development

  • Identify the impact of their own cultural style service delivery

  • Recognize best practices for cultural effectiveness

  • Develop their own cultural effectiveness development plan
