Description

TEDDY DAVENPORT’s songs are authentic, a refreshing take on old roots music. His great melodies, catchy hooks, and heartfelt songs bring people together from all different backgrounds. His distinctive sound can be described as Bob Dylan meets Chris Stapleton. It is easy to connect with Davenport’s passionate lyrics and seductive voice. His raw Americana music will definitely captivate you.

Since putting on his hat and cowboy boots at the early age of 5, he remembers singing along with Johnny Cash and The Beatles, and dancing all night to LIVE music with his mother. His writing abilities grew after years of hardships. Military school, the death of loved ones and run-ins with the law gave Teddy an opportunity to tell a story of true redemption.

In 2014 Teddy Davenport released his first album”A Shot of Grace,” a project that introduced him to the Madison music scene. He solidified himself as a true American singer-songwriter with his second album in 2016, “Middle of a Miracle.” His song, “One more bridge to burn” was nominated Country Song of the Year at the MAMA Awards in Madison, Wisconsin. His last album, “The Deepest Blue” was released in 2017, a compilation of songs processing breakups and loss. Teddy has been spreading his music across the country since his first release. He has opened for various respectful artists such as: Thompson Square, The Deslondes and Michael McDermott. Going to one of Teddy’s shows feels like you have reconnected with your long lost friend. Taking you through a whirlwind of emotions, whether you want to dance or sit and listen, Teddy Davenport is the real deal.

“Davenport’s obviously been down a hard road and is clearly a changed man with a mission to help people through music….He’s found himself and this infuses his songs with life.” ~Rick Tvedt, Local Sounds Magazine.

THE LOWER 5TH incorporates Folk, Rock, Blues, Reggae, Country and Bluegrass to produce a unique blend of Midwestern Soul that swings, sways, rocks, and wails. Luke Jorgensen, Cory Swadley and Paul Metz began to work together in 2010 to write and perform songs that draw from and build upon their eclectic musical roots. With the addition of Jeremy Henning (Trombone) and Audrey Pescatelli (bass), The Lower 5th grew to become a band of powerhouse musicians that play high energy music from the heart and leave it all on stage with every performance. After the tragic loss of their leader, Luke Jorgensen, the band committed to carry on in his honor an uplifting message of Hope that continues to resonate through their music. The Lower 5th was voted Artist of the Year at the 2018 Madison Area Music Awards and their debut album Hope won Album of the Year. The band has performed at countless venues across central Wisconsin and has been featured at some of the Midwest’s finest Music Festivals including, Bratfest, Ragged Roots, Between the Waves Music Festival, Driftless Music Gardens’ Bonfire Festival & Peoplefest, Charity Jamboree, The Wiskeyonsin Family Reunion, Lands End & Kettle Moraine Summer Concert Series, radio and television performances as well as Monthly residency at The Up North Bar. The Lower 5th has also performed support for national acts including Boyd Tinsley of the Dave Matthews Band, Kaleo, Gangsta Grass, and The Railsplitters.
