Here is what Oakwood’s Activity Director, Karen Dimitro, says, “ I saw Steve last year at a special showcase and was blown away. This man is not only a truly fabulous singer and TV star, but he is very good to look at. We are extremely lucky to have an original artist like him at Oakwood”.
"March-Tormé's voice is seductive and effortless" - L.A. TIMES .
"Remarkable vocalist ... a natural and brilliant performer" - L.A. JAZZ ...
Steve March-Torme, the son of Mel Torme and the stepson of Hal March, brings not only his own music, but also takes audiences through an enduring set of songs from multiple eras. In his own captivating style and with his characteristic charm, ease and humor, Steve delivers an eclectic and exciting evening of music by Stevie Wonder, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Ray Charles, the Beatles, Gershwin, and so many more. And, yes, he does do some Mel Torme songs.
Steve's extraordinary voice has electrified audiences in venues from the Detroit Jazz Festival to the McCallum Performing Arts Center in Palm Desert, CA, to the Smith Center in Las Vegas, and worldwide from London to Japan, Australia to Brazil and Canada. It might seem an obvious choice that Steve would enter the family business, but he discovered his love for music almost by accident.
Steve was born in New York City to the multi-talented Mel
Tormé and the former model/actress, Candy Tockstein. By the age of 12, he knew that he wanted to be
a performer, and at 13 he earned his first paycheck fronting his own band.
After his family moved to Beverly Hills, he continued to develop as a musician
and his influences grew to include Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Todd Rundgren,
and Steely Dan.
Steve performed at a tribute to Henry Mancini at the Hollywood Bowl and has since toured the world both on land and on cruise ships. His tribute to his Dad, Mel Torme, is inspiring and is a portion of his show.

Mitchell, L.A. JAZZ SCENE MAGAZINE Steve's live shows feature some of the most enduring, well-crafted songs ever written, beautifully arranged to appeal to the most nostalgic listener and to thrill the most sophisticated. After a recent performance at The Smith Center in Las Vegas, Jetsetters Magazine Editor Janice Marie Wilson wrote of Steve: “I had forgotten how wonderful falling in love was until last Friday night, when I attended the Steve March-Tormé performance at the Cabaret Jazz Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s worth coming to Las Vegas just to see him and his musical jazz band. Because you will surely fall in love. The stage lights grew brighter and with an unassuming gesture to the band ... the evening took off the ground never to land until after the last standing ovation. Items Not Allowed
