Prof. Abeer Kayed Pelon Zaytouna Dance Troop Description
Commemorating Al Nakba, Al Naksa, the Battle of Karameh and the Great March of Return. Remembering the Past, Honoring the Resistance The Struggle for Palestine Continues On line ticket sales close at 10:00 AM on June 22. Tickets will be on sale at the door while they last. 2019 is the 71st anniversary of Al Nakba, the catastrophe of 1948 when 90% of the population of Palestine lost their homes and land. It is also the 52nd anniversary of Al Naksa, the set back, when Israel took control of the rest of historic Palestine. But Palestinian resistance has continued over all these years, from the 1968 Battle of Karameh in Jordan to the on-going Great March of Return in Gaza. The Commemoration begins with a buffet dinner at 5:OO PM followed by the program at 6:00 PM. The program includes a presentation of Palestinian folkloric dance by the Zaytouna Dance troupe, the video This is my land..This is My Home produced by Raed Kabaha and Nazim Shureidi, and a keynote address by Abeer Kayed Pelon, Professor at Howard University.
