Description
Recovery requires effort. Research tells us that
most persons who know they need to make changes are ambivalent about doing
so. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an Evidence Based Practice that
addresses the common problem of ambivalence and increases the person's
likelihood to make committed efforts by strengthening their motivation for
change. It is a strategic conversational style of engaging the person in
conversations about change. Attendees of this training will have a basic understanding
of how MI works, the SPIRIT of MI, the Micro-Skills of MI, and how to elicit
and strengthen Change Talk. The training is highly interactive and practice
oriented.
This training will be structured towards the Peer Recovery Support profession. This training provides 6.5 CEU for all who complete the training
