Description

This session will include an overview of the Kentucky Academic Standards for Visual and Performing Arts with tips on how to use them in the classroom. Guidance for teachers on how to work with administrators to understand the standards and observe their application in the classroom will also be included. Teachers will have time to discuss applications with peers and share their findings with the full group. The session is for All teachers who teach the arts at any and all grade levels.

Certificates of completion for two hours of professional learning will be provided and door prizes will be given away at the end of the session.

Presenter will be Phil Shepherd who served as the Project Director for the creation of the National Core Arts Standards which were adopted by Kentucky to become the Kentucky Academic Standards for Visual and Performing Arts.
