Full Circle Cast

Description
Rob Schiffmann and Jon Rothstein join together with an ensemble of six NYC based singer/performers, to give new life, resonance and dimension to some of their classic acoustic rock and musical theater tunes as well as some of their newest, all-original works. With arrangements by Schiffmann, these songs are pPerformed by Kevin R. Free, Marc T. Engberg, Chelsea Camp, Mallory Kinney, Scott Janes and Matt Giroveanu,. The songs explore themes from artistic longing to fading, blossoming and desperate love, to clear-eyed reflection on lives realized and relationships lived. Running time: 90 minutes with no intermission.

Rob Schiffmann & Jon Rothstein may be most comfortably categorized as acoustic pop writers, but that label exists only as a point of departure for a duo that produces innovative, forward-thinking music for the intelligently–inclined masses. Their distinctive songs seamlessly integrate a rock ‘n roll soul with a lyrical essence. Rob and Jon consistently deliver accessible pop flavor, successfully blending stunning, straightforward melodies with clever and complex lyrics that are immediately relatable. Friends since childhood, the two reunited after college and began their musical collaboration as the duo Urban Badlands, and eventually, with the addition of other members, as the band, The Hillary Step (def.: the rock face considered the last true summit and challenge prior to reaching the top of Mount Everest), which has brought their songs to a loyal following throughout New England, the Midwest, and primarily around their home base of New York City. Their music has been performed at such popular venues as Central Park Summer Stage, The Bitter End, Arlene’s Grocery, Caffe Vivaldi, The Lion’s Den and The Duplex. They have two CD’s “Knee Deep in Giants” and “Note to Self” as well as an EP, “Between You & Me,” which is currently in production alongside a live album of “Full Circle,” the original version of tonight’s show, which was directed by Nina Cochran, featuring students from St. Cloud High School in Kissimmee, Florida.
