Description

Carla Delvillaggio, a MULTIPLE AWARD WINNING Tribute Artist has entertained across the country from Miami to Las Vegas to New York City. She has the look and sound of "the Greatest Star", the incomparable Barbra Streisand. From the hair down to the trademark nails, and wearing meticulously detailed replicas of iconic concert gowns, she is "Simply Streisand" in every way.

Carla recreates the excitement and high energy vocals of Streisand’s most powerful numbers and at the same time sings with a beauty and purity of sound essential for the ballads so closely associated with this greatest of all singing actresses. She has entertained at Theatres, Performing Arts Centers, private parties and corporate events, benefits and fundraisers, Synagogues, Jewish Community Centers, and Adult Communities, all over the country and has performed several times on the Legends Stage at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. Her recent NYC debut, where she did three “completely different” shows at the Laurie Beechman Theatre garnered her rave reviews, including one from the NY POST. As a Reknown Operatic Star

As a classically trained Lyric-Soprano, Carla was critically acclaimed for her superb interpretations of operatic leading ladies, and became a favorite of many opera companies in a wide variety of challenging roles, including Lalume in Kismet, Lucy Brown in The Three Penny Opera , Giulietta and Antonia in Les Contes D'Hoffmann, Nedda inI Pagliacci, Kathie in The Student Prince, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Musetta in La Boheme and Clorinda in La Cenerentola, among many others.

A consummate actress and a natural comedienne with impeccable comic timing, critics compared her to the likes of Bette Midler and Carol Burnett, and consistently praised her for the beauty of her voice, commanding stage presence and professionalism. (Critics included: The Baltimore Sun, The Review – Washington, D.C., The Washington Post and Opera News). She has sung with the Orlando Opera Company, Tri-Cities Opera Company, Baltimore Opera, Summer Opera Theatre Company (D.C.), Annapolis Opera, and Opera Camerata of Washington, to name a few.

Carla attended the State University of New York – in Binghamton, where she earned her Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance, with an Opera Specialization. In addition to her operatic credits, Carla was an active concert and oratorio soloist. She was invited by internationally-known soprano Diana Soviero and Bernard Uzan, Director of L'Opera de Montreal, to be among the first select group of singers to participate in the Florida Grand Opera's Advanced Role Preparation Studio.

In 2001 she made her European debut in the Czech Republic, singing the title role in La Traviata. That same year Carla had the great honor of being asked to sing at a joint event for Czech, Slovak and American dignitaries, including the head of the Czech Senate and Madeleine Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State.
