Pete Sturman has been doing his own brand of underground folk music for over two decades, from his early days in New Orleans as half of Pistol Pete & Popgun Paul to the present day with sporadic solo gigs and as part of the Ukulele Cabaret. The 2018 album MOCKINGBIRD features songs cherry-picked from 25 years of songwriting, including the oft-requested “Rufus Wainwright Gave Me Crabs” and “Harry and John,” a tribute to two giants of the gay civil rights movement.
