Description

Honeck-Moss Productions is proud to present “In The Works.”  This exciting new series was conceived as an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment.  It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

In The Works will be presented monthly and feature three composers or composer teams, each presenting about 20 minutes of new material.  This month features the works of composers : Casey Keenan, Blake Pfeil, and Ben Roseberry & Chip Klose.  Hosted by Peter Trevino.

CASEY KEENAN is a New York City based performer and composer whose work has recently been showcased at Feinstein's 54 Below. In 2015, Casey's original work earned the original cast of her musical,"Glass" the title of Lincoln Center Artist of the year. "Glass" was performed in its entirety at the Women's Work Festival in June of 2016. Casey is a current second year participant in the BMI Engel Lehman Musical Theater Workshop, where she is currently developing a musical adaptation of "A League of Their Own," with her her writing partner, Blair Bodine. Casey has performed in numerous shows in the New York tri-state area, including Matti Kovler's lauded "Drumf and the Rhinegold,"with the Floating Tower Theatre group. She also performs in an acoustic folk duo with her chosen brother, Jeremy Shields. In addition to her studies at BMI, Casey has also attended Berklee College of Music, Texas Tech University, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

BLAKE PFEIL is an award-winning songwriter/actor, who was dubbed by Playbill.com as "a boy with too much talent."  His songwriting work has heard life in venues across NY, including headliner appearances at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Rockwood Music Hall, the Highline Ballroom, and hIs debut album WALLPAPER is available anywhere you can buy music. Blake's recent Joni Mitchell-inspired theatrical creation THE BBC 1970 sold out Rockwood Music Hall in November. Additionally, Blake worked as the resident composer for the government-operated Gyeonggi English Village in South Korea from 2010-2011, and he is currently a guest artist at Concordia College.

As a proud member of Actor's Equity, Blake's credits include three seasons at the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, Huntington Theatre Co., New Repertory Theatre, among others. He contributes social media content to Hello Alfred and Picsart, received his BFA from Emerson College, and is an alumni of the National YoungArts Foundation.

BEN ROSEBERRY & CHIP KLOSE are the songwriting team behind the musicals Picture Perfect and From The Ground Up.  They were finalists for the 2016 Jonathan Larson Grant, and winners of this year's MAC Wallowitch Award for Songwriting.  Both Chip and Ben began their careers as performers before eventually broadening out into other pursuits.  Since 2003, Chip has worked as an actor, director, choreographer, and producer.  Ben, just returning from two years on the road with A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, has spent the last twelve years balancing a career as a working actor with that of a singer/songwriter. His band, THE FRACTURED YEARS, just released their self-titled debut album in the spring of 2016. Chip & Ben are currently exploring development opportunities for their musical, Picture Perfect. PETER TREVINO is a prolific producer, composer, and longtime songwriter who has cemented his reputation as a rising piano troubadour by headlining clubs and festivals in New York and Los Angeles, collaborating with renowned musicians such as drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), keyboardist Rami Jaffee (The Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers), bass player Rodney Grant (American Pearl), and vocalist Steve Perry (Journey). His timeless hooks are rooted in a sincere emotional core, his songs poetically exploring the universal themes of love and longing, as is evident on his debut solo album FREEDOM, which earned him a spot in the Top 100 on ReverbNation's Pop Charts. With melodies rooted in the 1970s, Trevino simultaneously evokes Steely Dan, Supertramp, Billy Joel and The Beach Boys, yet his sound is clearly that of a singer-songwriter in this new millennium. Trevino’s music can be heard in film and television projects, including the feature “Orson’s Last Dance” and the TV series “The Capones” and “Homegrown Makeover”. ASCAP Member (petertrevino.com)
