Description
Everyone's favorite legendary Las Vegas lounge singer, Trudy Carmichael has LIVED (and nearly died) LOVED (and often lost) more than most mere mortals, but she gets through all of her trials and tribulations through the art of song!  Based upon an audience suggestion of a made-up One-Woman Show title, she weaves together an entirely improvised One-Woman Musical ON THE SPOT detailing the triumphs and challenges of her sensational, storied past!

TRUDY CARMICHAEL (Portrayed by Robin Rothman) -  Robin is a singer/songwriter who can be seen performing at Potbelly sandwich shops, cafes, improv theaters and bars around the city. She also makes up one-third of the musical improv comedy troupe Triad, one-half of her duo-prov troupe, Pizza Cat and hosts a Musical Improv Mixer every other Tuesday as her alter-ego, Las Vegas Lounge singer, Trudy Carmichael at the Magnet Theater.  She was seen at the Duplex Cabaret Theater last Spring portraying the role of Beverly Hills housewife turned Troop Leader, Phyllis Nefler in a staged reading of her musical adaptation of the 1989 classic motion picture, Troop Beverly Hills.  Find out more about her and her cat at www.robinrothman.com!

TRUDY first made her appearance in the Las Vegas-inspired musical imrpov revue, The Royal Flushes at The Upright Citizens Brigade in 2005.  She continued to perform in Comedy and Cabaret Venues around NYC before landing a permanent gig at The Magnet Theater as the host of the Musical Improv Mixer in 2009 for The First Annual New York Musical Improv Festival.  In addition to hosting the Musical Mixer, she has hosted various charitable events for Covenant House International and the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corp Marching Band. She was also a runner up in The New York Soul Sensation Competition at New World Stages and winner of last month's The Cabaret Show Down at the Kraine Theater.

FRANK SPITZNAGEL (Pianist) is the Musical Director at Magnet Theater and a piano accompanist who frequently plays for such improv groups as I Eat Pandas, Veal, The Made-Up Musical, Gusto, and many others. He is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, where he studied piano performance. His work can be heard on several studio recordings. Frank has composed for Comedy Central and the Aspen Comedy Festival. He accompanied Itzhak Perlman in an original jazz composition by Benny Golson at Lincoln Center. He also played the American premiere of The Hired Man Off-Broadway. He has been musical director for productions such as Nunsense (all incarnations), A Chorus Line, Chicago City Limits, and several original musicals.

STEVE WHYTE - (Percussionist) is a drummer, Moth GrandSlam champion and three-time StorySlam winner as well as a member of the musical improv house team, Goats at the Magnet Theater. In addition to performing with past ensembles, BEEES! College, DAVID! and The Stragglers, he has also performed improvised percussion for Choral Rage, The Made Up Musical and Baby Wants Candy.
