Geek Bowl XI Pre-Party benefitting Child’s Play
Visiting Seattle and not visiting MoPOP (formerly EMP Museum) is like visiting the Caribbean and not asking about their Pirates. You know you’re going to do it, I mean, you've got to. What, you ask, is so special about this pre-party? Well, hold on a minute while I tell you! You’re so impatient. How does live video gaming on one of the world’s largest indoor HD screen sound? At 60 feet wide and 33 feet tall, you will never have a gaming experience like this ever again. Live gaming not your thing? No problem! You will also have exclusive access to museum exhibits like Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses, Wild Blue Angel: Hendrix Abroad, Indie Game Revolution, Sound Lab and more. Normal admission to MoPOP is $25 per person but for the Geek Bowl XI pre-party tickets are just $20. Can you beat that with a stick? Probably, we don't judge, but why would you? (FYI, bringing sticks to beat things is highly frowned upon) We’ll also have live music and even some karaoke…with a LIVE BAND backing up your badass rendition of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’. (FYI, requesting Don’t Stop Believin’ is highly frowned upon and may result in your being beaten with sticks) Seattle's Elysian Brewery will have pint specials on tap as well as some crafty cocktails. Food will be available from Culture Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck and will offer specials fit for a Geek. Oh, and best of all, you'll be supporting Child's Play. Child’s Play is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games. Through donations, Child's Play is able to purchase age appropriate entertainment and more for over 100 hospitals and therapy facilities worldwide, allowing children to enjoy themselves, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience. Over the Geek Bowl XI weekend Geeks Who Drink will donate 50% of proceeds or $5,000 to the Child's Play charity, whichever is greater. |
