Description
Singer/Songwriter sensation Randi Driscoll calls together friends from Broadway to benefit up-and-coming actor-driven ensemble, The Seeing Place. The show, “Reinvention” touches on the immense challenge put before us when life throws us struggles we’re not sure we have the strength to face.

The Seeing Place (TSP), an Off Broadway ensemble in NYC, did something we all hope a theater will do - provided vital support to its artists when they are ill. Erin Cronican, founding member of TSP, was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer in 2015 and The Seeing Place provided an artistic refuge to offset the struggles of dealing with chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Now, Randi Driscoll and her friends from Broadway and beyond are raising money to give back to The Seeing Place, an organization that offers so much to its artists.

The star-studded event pulls directly from Broadway, featuring Tony Award Nominee Walter Willison (Two By Two, Grand Hotel, Pippin), Noah Baird (Matilda), Kelsey Fowler (Bonnie and Clyde, Mary Poppins) and TSP Ensemble members Erin Cronican (Subways Are For Sleeping, The Last Five Years), Brandon Walker (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea) and Candice Oden (Music of the Night.) The event may also feature a couple of surprise performers.

Randi Driscoll is an award winning singer/songwriter and actress. Randi's original music is a blend of piano driven singer/songwriter music with elements of pop, country and jazz. Her music has been featured in film, television, and a commercial directed by Spike Lee, in which Randi also appeared. Her performance credits include appearances at Lincoln Center, Place des Arts (Montreal), The Japan Center for the Arts, The Ford Theatre and numerous universities, performance halls, nightclubs and cabarets. Randi’s original song “What Matters” has been featured in several stage productions, films and documentaries, and proceeds from the song support the Matthew Shepard Foundation, an anti-hate charity. The choral version of Randi’s song has been performed by over fifty choirs internationally, and has been featured at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Disney Hall in California. A film about the making of Randi's song "What Matters" has earned several awards and the song itself was named one of the top Pride Anthems, by the Advocate Magazine. Most recently Randi’s original song “No Song” won best Adult Contemporary in the Song of the Year contest.

“The Seeing Place” is the literal translation of the Greek word theatron: “…the place where we go to understand ourselves." The Seeing Place Ensemble is an actor-driven company: built by actors and managed by actors to be a base for actors who want to grow & hone their craft in a creative and supportive artistic home. TSP is forcefully committed to four key elements of theatre-making: developing highly trained actors into thriving self-producers; honoring the craft of the acting process through rehearsal and into performance thereby bringing organic, “fully lived” storytelling to our community; presenting compelling works by master playwrights that reflect the struggles and triumphs of our current society; and making theater accessible for all New Yorkers by keeping ticket prices low and affordable.
