Description
The possibilities for what you can do with rope are endless, and there are a mind-boggling variety of techniques available. If what you want to do is restrain someone on a bed for sex, however, a few very simple ties are all you need, and that is the focus of this class. We'll cover basic wrist, ankle, and chest ties, using a few fundamental knots that will allow you to build up to more complex designs as you gain experience tying. This class is for those new to rope who want to develop an in-depth practice, but also want to start having hot rope scenes right away. Level: Beginner Requirements: Four 20'+ lengths of rope Class from 8-10pm, doors open at 7:30pm Cost: $20 at the door, $15 in advance using PurplePass About the presenter: Topologist is a bondage educator, performer, and photographer, presenting regularly at major national and regional conventions such as Shibaricon, Rope Camp, Dark Odyssey, and KinkFest, as well as numerous local venues. He first gained widespread recognition for his 2009 invention of the Somerville Bowline cuff, which is often now taught as the standard column tie and has been featured in material by dozens of educators in several languages. His subsequent innovations have included major new techniques in the areas of box ties and lift lines for suspension. As an instructor, Topologist combines modern educational theories such as multiple intelligences and backward design with his personal experience as an engineer, artist, climber, yogi, and aerialist to help students approach rope from multiple angles, simultaneously developing muscle memory, intuition, and rational understanding. Teaching is an integral part of Topologist's research into safer and more effective techniques, and his development of new ties is often centered around their pedagogy. His classes are intensively hands-on while being structured to illuminate the core principles behind, and relationships between, the ties being learned. |
